SAVIN MARTINET ASSOCIES JOINS DS AVOCATS

This reinforcement will make the Environmental Law and Sustainable Development department of DS Avocats the largest team of lawyers in the French market. An integrated offer within DS’ 18 offices will also be put in place to provide cross-functional support for companies in matters related to Hygiene, Safety, Health, Energy and the Environment (HSE).

This offer will allow the firm to assist its clients with laws and regulations on these matters worldwide.

Patricia Savin, Yvon Martinet and their entire team of eleven lawyers – partners and associates – joined the international law firm DS Avocats on October 1st, 2014.

Prepared for nearly a year and based on a common set of values shared by the two law firms, this merger will make the Environmental Law and Sustainable Development department of DS Avocats the largest team on the market.

The environment-related expertise of DS Avocats, strengthened by the signature and reputation of the lawyers of Savin Martinet Associés, will further extend the highly reputed competence of DS Avocats in terms of real estate transactions, policies and interventions, and the financing of these operations. This will allow DS Avocats to optimise the services that it offers its clients in both the private and public sectors.

Furthermore, an integrated offer within DS’ 18 offices , established in Europe, Asia, the Maghreb, and North and South America, to provide cross-functional support for companies in HSE matters, is effective as of now to respond to the convergence of laws and regulations in this field worldwide.

DS Avocats strengthens its M&A team and welcomes Benoît Charrière-Bournazel as a Partner in Paris.

Member of the New-York Bar since 2001, Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales since 2007 and member of the Paris Bar since 2008, Benoît Charrière-Bournazel practices Business Law in France and internationally.

Holder of a DEA in Business Law from the Université de Paris X Nanterre (1996) as well as a DESS in Business and Tax Laws from Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (1996), Benoît Charrière-Bournazel also holds a LL.M in European and Company Law from the University of Bristol (United-Kingdom) (1997) and a LL.M. in Corporate Law from the New-York University School of Law (USA) (2000).

Benoît Charrière-Bournazel began his career in 1998 as a legal counsel at the Embassy of France in Washington DC before joining Covington & Burling (New-York and London) from 2000 to 2007 then Debevoise & Plimpton (Paris) in 2007. In 2010 he became a partner of the law firm CBR & Associés.

He joins DS Avocats in Paris and more particularly its M&A team as a Partner.

Benoît Charrière-Bournazel’s arrival further corresponds to the international development of DS Avocats. After Canada, the firm wishes to reinforce its ties and to develop new relations in the Anglo-Saxon world.

Benoît Charrière-Bournazel assists French and foreign clients in connection with their M&A operations, commercial contracts, international investments as well as litigation and arbitration related to such transactions.

He is in charge of the international commission Paris-New York of the Paris Bar.
